What Could I Give Him?
What can I give the one who was born
to save us? Magi wondrous gifts did hold—
frankincense, gold, myrrh—to give the Firstborn
I have no treasures, no jewels, no gold
How can I thank him and pay him my dues?
Stand tall in my values, his praises sing
Courage—Strength—Smiles—What else can I do?
What can I give him? What gifts could I bring?
My kindness, my life, my laughter, my love,
My sadness, my anger, my broken heart
My tears and my guilt, my hate and thoughts of
My love for glitter and great works of art
No more can I give the King with no crowne
Born in the hay at Bethlehem towne.
