Dreams
Uninvited, this averse morning’s wake
For what is there but chilling apathy?
Acathexis must overpower ache
Oh, to be consumed by infinite sea
To return to a day I’ve never known
To glide down the Paris streets, mystified
I am drunk with amazement, all alone
Lost in the Montmartre, dazed and alive
Unknown nostalgic dreams choke and enslave
My sane train of thought which tells me to live
It whispers for me to live and behave
Somber reality none shall forgive
Reality, oh poor, neglected dark,
Where is your rainbow, your forgotten lark?
