A Smile From Above
Ripped and forced from this world all too soon
Like tearing off a scab revealing wound
Days are dark without your gleaming smile
Now your smirk resides above in sky
With twinkling stars each toothy grin doth shine
Your welc’ming arms are now the shapes of clouds
Granting shadows, shedding all from doubt
From too hot too awkward situation
Earning laughs was your occupation
Now your jokes are tickling winds not fierce
Nor sharp but calmly soft upon the face
Reminding others and me of your grace.
Help lead us through this dark and empty night
Your heart the sun, a wide and warming light.
