Star, hide your fire
The star shone brightly against the vast canvas.
Painted in the ebony sky, a lone soldier,
Surrounded by millions, twinkling in the darkness.
Marooned above the earth, a glimmer
Among the somber clouds. He was a star of hope,
Enchanting my eyes with gratifying rays,
Guiding me through my endless eclipse, helping me cope
With my troubles, rendering me ablaze.
Until one night, the heavy mists quenched his light.
I was lost without his bewitching luminescence.
Then the sun ascended, enlivening my sight.
And with time, I understood his inevitable absence.
Though he left, a glow would persistently invade me,
From all the other stars and their gleaming beauty.
