Foolish Heart
Oh heart, that seeks forever in vain
For the warmth of love’s embrace
Forever you search, but I fear never will you gain
The happiness for which you chase
Longing and yearning is all you feel
For this emotion that is fictitious
This, crave for love has caused a hole in you that not even time can heal
And those who have thoughts of true love are wrongly ambitious,
Belief in “love” is the belief of a fool
For it allows you to dream of what can never be
And to allow you to dream absurdities is cruel
Belief in love causes an ocean of pain that one does not wish to see
Amour can take many forms including that of a precious dove,
But, heart, for you and I it takes the form of a pain that we wish to let go of.
