My Cross To Bear
I gaze upon your beauty across the fire
A sight so great, I'll never tire
From the soft glow of your velvet skin
To expressive eyes that reel me in
I long to hold you in my arms
Hear the laugh that enchants and charms
But alas my yearnings are for naught
For though you're whom my heart has sought
Your heart belongs here, the the Earth and Sky
To the critters that crawl and the birds that fly
You crave the warmth of the Earth's embrace
The love of freedom clearly on your face
I couldn't bear to cage the free- spirit that you are
Couldn't hide from you the moon and stars
So I'll adopt the pain of the freedom you lose
If you ever love me as I love you
