The words I thought I'd never say
You’re an anchor I no longer sink for
Those are the words I thought I’d never say.
I desired you to come back to shore,
but you’re the anchor that stayed away.
I was assured you were the fish for me.
Your departure was salty and sour.
I was left drenched in tides of what should be,
when you departed from me in that hour.
Slowly, I gained the strength to swim the sea,
in a scavenger to find my one.
I found not a fish, but the shark for me,
who shows that my scavenger is certainly done.
These are the words I thought I’d never say.
Sincerely, the one that swam away.
