A Farewell
I sought loving in your blue eyes,
My screams and shrieks you did neglect,
And Summer’s sun heed not my cries,
Despite image I did perfect.
Alone I stand on broken foot,
With all but one last cry to free,
Surrounded by the ash and soot,
I beg you now to look at me.
Please, detail of what I’ve done,
I live quite blind without your word,
I have not left the feet to run,
A slave only to what I’ve heard.
No more will I exist this way,
Farewell is all I have to say.
