Graduation
Finally four years have passed
Man these years went by so fast
Thinking back on those fun years
Trying hard to hold back my tears
People I’ve known since 5th grade
And all the friends I’ve ever made
Stand patiently by my side
The teachers watch with great pride
One by one we’re called to stage
Suddenly I feel real strange
My name’s the next that they call
I tell myself, “Please do not fall!”
I try to walk with all my grace
Just so I don’t fall on my face
I make my way which felt like a mile
Then I put on my best smile
I take the diploma in my hand
My family claps as they stand
There is pride in their eyes
Then my mother suddenly cries
I walk off stage with careful feet
Then I take my assigned seat
Valedictorian takes the stage
The atmosphere starts to change
She talks about our many years
I can’t seem to hold back my tears
She speaks of all the fun we had
These memories make me sad
We realized the goals we finally reached
Then we all gather after her speech
We all share a moment so rare
As we throw our caps up in the air
