A Sail
A lonesome sail in the deep blue,
But a splendid sight to behold-
As it battled the unbecoming waves very bold
That seemed to grow for a reason which no one knew.
The waves so beautiful and in it drew,
But the spray upon the face a reminder that it’s cold
And today is not the day for it to grab a hold
Of the lives that were promised amongst the far and few
That lonesome sail that battled long and hard
Finally came to rest as the waves stopped completely
And the thought of fear was discarding
The sky that was once black looked down sweetly
With colors of red, and the ocean blue, that looked as though a flame it barred,
And between the two evils sailed on the sail discreetly.
