Life Goes On

Love and war across the land,
Political riots and rebellion,
It’s all nonsense from where I stand-
Lives sacrificed by the million.
Friends become enemies
And lovers grow apart,
Everyone lacking empathy,
I wish we could have a brand new start.
The homeless look for shelter,
the wealthy seek a gain,
Burning in the summer while freezing in the winter,
Constantly going down the same lane.
Yet the flowers always bloom in the spring,
A new hope is what they’ll bring.
