The Big Meatloaf Pet-Peeve

I hate meatloaf because it is so gross.
And yet my mother prepares it for us.
I ask politely, “May I have some toast?”
She replies, “There is nothing to discuss.”

That leaves the potatoes and the green beans.
But those don't look appetizing neither.
Meatloaf is not a food for today's teens.
My sisters don't like the meatloaf either.

Maybe next time I will make my own food.
It will not be meatloaf, that I promise.
Let's hope next time I am in a good mood.
We'll eat a meal of which I am fondest.

And next time we have it, I will not eat,
Because meatloaf tastes like big, ugly feet.

Cute and peppy! If anything, the rhymes seemed a little forced, like the words weren't quite the correct ones to use in that place... Overall, I liked it. I had to write a sonnet about food last year and I enjoyed it as well. Nice job.
