My Story
I took a last look
And slowly closed the book.
I place it on the shelf
And thought quietly to myself.
My past was neatly stored away
While death silently waited at bay.
A short life indeed it was for me
That started back in '93
When a book with blank space
Was removed from its place
To be filled with words
And odd stories of birds.
But my story unraveled much too quick
When my body suddenly became so sick.
That was the moment the last chapter began
About how life doesn't go according to plan.
