The Tide
The waves crash - in and out,
The moon waits for tides to return,
I wait - for a fish of mine I doubt,
The sun, absent, yet continues to burn.
I feel the breeze, sweep through the jagged rocks,
And find myself in reflections of the the water,
The waves - crash and meet and talk,
While the sun still hides, burning even hotter.
I cast my line, then wait and reel back into shore,
The mist from waves carries to me and kisses my face,
An old tired man looking for my catch, I’m always back for more,
And everyday I wait and wonder, is it me or just this place?
