Strangers' Eyes
Mumbled voices surround her as she walks
Bits of strange conversations fill her ears
Growing, endless sound, forever is there
She doesn’t look, she doesn’t see, she can’t
Look down and pretend to be on your way
Wave and look causal is her motto
Secretly inside she is like the wind
Always moving, always watching others
She notices sudden, silent movements
She moves with grace, others move with power
Loving invisibility, she walks
Clouded thoughts and memories fill these halls
Doorways with goodbyes, but also hellos
She enters the room, strangers’ eyes look up.
