Her voice; soft, whispers of naiveté
My hands clutch hers, a grasp so bittersweet
For I am destructive in every single way.
My eyes are not as faithful as she hopes
My skin melts in the heat of burning lust
I’ve tried and I’ve tried to give it all up,
And yet here I stand, attempts weren’t enough.
I am a prideful man, this is for sure.
I wear your trustworthy heart on my sleeve
The band on my finger a dirty lie
I know that I have done you wrong. And still
I remain – blinded by my own ego
I wonder if one day she will see through
Her veil of blind love, her childish belief
In my fidelity as her man
I guess I was born to be disloyal
My black suit contrasting her long white dress
