Troubled Woods
Two good friends walk down an old unknown road
Reaching a fork, unsure which way to turn
One goes right, praying to crack the code
One guesses left, unable to discern.
Saying last goodbyes, going separate ways
The men disappear in the lush pine trees
The man who went left treads through a dense haze
Blinded by the fog, he falls to his knees.
He calls out for his friend, needing great aid.
But the man on the right path cares not to,
Listen. His road, filled with babbling brooks, suede
Smooth stones, velveteen flowers and fresh dew.
The left man calls out once more, needing his friend.
No one comes to help, he is near the end.
