The writing titled “The Thrill of it all,” written by Eve M., talks about Sam Smith’s recent albums. Her writing left me feeling understood, informed, and surprised. This article tells what his albums mean and how they make people feel. Her writing also left me engaged in what she was telling me. After Sam Smith released In the Lonely Hour, he traveled back to his hometown of London and continued his regular life, which surprised me. The author writes, “For a few years, Sam lived just like any of us, barely getting noticed by fans.” Three years later he published a new album. In “Scars” he sings about his appreciation towards his parents and how they taught him life lessons and supported him. He sings, “Dear mother how you’ve come so far, your love has fixed all of our broken heart.” Also, he sings about how his father “cleared up his scars.” It shows that Sam Smith has more to him than just a broken heart and love songs. Most of his music is written about those of a broken heart.
