Migraines vs. My Life Review
Issue Date-Fall 2019
Section #1 Pg.#50-51
The writing titled Migraines vs. My Life, written by Holly, talks about her ongoing medical condition. Her writing left me feeling happy, angry, and feeling relatable.
“My head was a balloon that would soon explode”. That’s how Holly felt when she was going through her migraines. I completely understand how she feels because I get them too. They are a terrible pain, very awful. Your head is in pain, your eyes hurt terribly, nausea happens and much more. Even though I don’t get them everyday, I still get them and know the pain. “I was misdiagnosed as a 14 year old…” was what was angering. She was always told that she was just dehydrated and that she was over exaggerating. When she got a new doctor and got a true diagnosis, that made me happy! Although she can’t get those years of pain and loss back, she can now be happy that she will get the true treatment she needs.
