Barbell WI is  a gym I have been going to since 7th grade ; I have  belonged to 4 gyms throughout my life—but nothing compares to Barbell.

Their motto is, “The heaviest weight to lift in the gym is the front door.” And Barbell truly makes this obstacle the easiest. When you walk through the door you will be greeted by Moose, A 100 pound black great dane who shakes the room and roars with slobber. A dog that could probably eat you, but has too kind of a heart. The music bounces around the rustic cement walls but never too loud in case you want to listen to your own.

Probably the best part of barbell is that it has updated gym equipment but the atmosphere is still an old school gym vibe--which people die to find. The floors consist of green turf for agility training and foam gym mats for lifting. The gym is relatively small but has more equipment than anyone needs.  There are never more than 10 people in the gym at one time so equipment is always open, which is not the case in most commercial gyms. There are several squat racks, bench presses and 10 other machines to hit all parts of your body. In the back there is a boxing ring and punching bags similar to the gym in the movie Rocky.

One huge drawback of going to a commercial gym is not knowing what to do. This makes many people give up working out because they never know what to do next, how much weight to add, proper form, quantity or reps/sets ect. One huge benefit of barbell is there is always a plan to follow and Glen the owner is happy to implement workouts for a certain sport you play and cater to your needs. If you want to lose weight, gain muscle mass, become faster, more explosive, stronger, aesthetic, whatever you are going for, you will be able to get elite training at this gym with no extra cost.

Most gyms cost $60/month and getting a trainer is typically $60/per session. Barbell costs $150/month which seems steep but is actually a steal. This is because Glen is always engaged and there to assist you to give you significantly better experience than any other trainer. This makes your gym experience more efficient and much more efficient.

Glen has so much knowledge and can answer any question you may have. Glen went to college for this quite frankly all he does is workout and get people jacked. He won countless bodybuilding competitions as a natural bodybuilder. Nowadays it seems so hard to research anything in the fitness industry because it is very biased to sell their program, supplement/diet, equipment etc. However Glen will be able to give his unbiased professional advice on anything above.

Glen even incorporates strategies to mitigate/prevent injuries and will help you with any injury you have. He probably knows more than a typical physical therapist. Throughout my time I had back pain, bad posture, tight muscles and he always was happy to help me out.

Working out has changed my life. It was so hard when I started to workout I had no motivation and no guidance and bounced from gym to gym. However like any other previous gym I had my doubts about Barbell. I can't say your fitness journey  will be easy in the beginning; however it will be easy to fall in love with the barbell. Quite frankly I have to now force myself to not go to the gym, as rest days are necessary.
