There are many ways to keep in touch and communicate with people all over. There are pros and cons of these tools though. My five favorite social media include Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and Wanelo.

First off is the big, bad Instagram. Instagram is my favorite social media. It is super easy to use for editing pictures. Instagram is great for early photographers and helps others see life through your eyes. Although Instagram is great the application is only available on iPhone or iPod Touch. You’re out of luck if you don’t have an Apple product. Overall Instagram is the most popular with teens and young adults.

Next, we have Twitter. Twitter is great for quick, short updates on friends, athletes, or your favorite celebrity. However, Twitter limits you to only 140 characters which sometimes is not enough to say what’s on your mind. In addition, Twitter is also not a very visual website, meaning that it is sometimes not easy to open pictures on it. Bottom line, Twitter is one of the most popular medias and makes it easy to stay in the loop.

Here’s the most famous Facebook. Facebook is good for keeping up with older relatives-- or the less hip ones. The helpful part is almost everybody has one. I for one don’t love Facebook as much as others. To me, adults have kind of overrun it. Does my mom really need to know what I’m doing every second of everyday? However, if you want to stay in touch with extended family or old friends, Facebook is right for you.

Fourth of all is Pinterest. I love love love this site. It is full of recipes, DIY’s, and health plans! I can spend hours on Pinterest finding things I’d love to try. Yet, Pinterest isn’t very widespread. Meaning mostly girls have one. Pinterest isn’t for everyday communication, but is a magnificent resource to have if you need some new ideas!

Lastly is Wanelo. I can see Wanelo as an upcoming trend. Wanelo stands for want, need, love. Wanelo is a site that locates stores for online shopping. You can look through Wanelo and find a cute phone case you might want or a new pair of shoes. Wanelo finds the price of the product and the place you can purchase it. Nevertheless, Wanelo isn’t very social at all, it is definitely the ”Next Big Thing” because it is easy and addicting.

If you’ve gotten bored with just emailing, make sure to check these social media sites and applications out as other ways to stay connected with friends, family, and the world around you!

I have spent a lot of time on social media sites lately and I felt the need to share my thoughts on each of them.
