Wonder Women, written by Leigh Bardugo, tells the story of a young Amazon named Diana and a seemingly normal teenager, Alia Keralis, who embark on a dangerous journey that tests their abilities. Diana seeks to prove herself to her warrior sisters, but ends up risking everything by defying Amazon law. She does this for the greater good, and this shows her compassion. Alia Keralis just wants to have a normal life and escape the grasp of her overprotective brother, but finds that she is a warbringer, a descendant from Helen of Troy, and it is her fate to bring war and bloodshed upon the earth. At the beginning Alia is extremely overwhelmed, but eventually begins to accept her situation. Together, they forge an alliance through the oath of an Amazon so that they may save the earth from a world war. This mission takes them to our world, far away from Diana’s home, Themyscira. Working together, Diana and Alia come across many difficulties and plot twists that will keep you turning the pages.

One main challenge , that all of the characters face, is the feeling of displacement. At the beginning of the story you can see how both Diana and Alia feel out of place and are seeking to find their true place in the world. Diana feels that she is not a true Amazon, and Alia feels that she is always causing problems wherever she goes. Throughout this story, the characters are really trying to find their true place in the world. And in the end they do, but maybe not in the way they first expected.

Although this story may be based on Greek gods and mythology, the majority of the story is set in the modern world. The themes and problems that these characters face are related to real world problems. During this book the characters visit many places that do correspond with Greek mythology.

The writer attaches you to all of the characters, and you feel empathy for them. This feature adds to the story, in a way that makes you wish the book never ended. It gives a refreshing view of all of the characters, and a fascinating take on all of the things that they come across in their journey.

This story is an action-packed adventurous journey, with a little bit of romance, and many exciting plot twists. Wonder Woman is great for readers who are interested in mythology and anyone who loves adventure. This fast-paced exciting book inspires people to stand up for their friends, even when things get hard, and to always do things for the greater good.
