“High Achiever” by Tiffany Jenkins first caught my eyes because it is based on a true story about a woman and her struggles coming from a bad life. It takes us through a journey of which we see Tiffany struggle with a severe opioid addiction and how she maintains it and how she goes through her rehabilitation process. Alongside her struggle to acquire sobriety. We see her go to jail as well; Keep in mind that she is a wife and a mother of 2 young girls. So we see her husband and 2 children also be affected by her actions slowly whether it be at work or school or just in everyday social life in their community.

The story ‘High Achiever” by Tiffany Jenkins, is an amazing True story in my eyes. It is about  a woman who lives a double life. When read it feels real, honest and opens your eyes and kind of takes us out of our bubble we live in everyday to see how other people live their lives .

The author “Tiffany Jenkins” uses  flashbacks and we are helped to better understand the story. Through the flashbacks we understand how she was introduced to addiction and how she got involved in the life of a “Felon” as several people told her on several occasions. We see how her life has gone deep into a “hellhole” as stated several times in the book. The flashbacks are probably one of my favorite things in the book. It tells us how she met her husband and a little bit into the life of her two little  girls when they were a little younger.

I do acknowledge that the jumping around in the story may not be for everyone and some may not like this type of storytelling. So if you do not like a story that jumps around plenty and gets a bit lost I would not recommend this book to you, But if you do; dedicated readers would love this book.
