Johnny was training to be a silversmith when he was sabotaged by Dove, a fellow apprentice of Mr. Lapham, so that he would burn his hand severely with silver. He then meets a boy named Rab who helps him along the way to living a life with this crippled hand.

It is a very vivid book, there are many details and it is very informative about Revolutionary Boston.

The book ends when a battle is fought and Rab is gone, Dr. Warren asks for a look at Johnny's hand and tells him he can help him with surgery.

This book is very informative and I would recommend this book to someone who would like to better there understanding of Revolutionary Boston and the people, such as John Hancock, Paul Revere, and Samuel Adams who made a big difference in history and made things like The Tea Party possible.
