Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Spear
“Sign of the Beaver” is just a phenomenon movie/book but the book was much better than then the movie. I think 5th grade and up should be aloud to read this book! This is a story about a boy who has to stay home alone because his dad has to go get the family which is far away from there new home from where they are at so he stays home alone. Then he meets a boy and he is Indian. But the boy cannot speak English so he teaches him how to read and speak. And the Indian boy teaches the boy how to make traps for food. But when the whole tribe has to move and the Indian boy asks if he wants to come with them so now he has to make a choice does he go or does he stay?
