When Lightning Strikes by Meg Cabot
Meg Cabot, #1 New York Times Best-selling author of the "Princess Diaries" series, has once again written an incredibly interesting and captivating series, starting with "When Lightning Strikes". This book is set in rural Indiana, and based on a girl named Jessica Mastrani, rebel and fighter. Jess has an issue with her temper, but she does mean well. Her best friend, Ruth, convinces her that they need to start walking (for exercise, you know), but their first day out, Jess gets struck by lightning. This book is all about the amazing powers she acquires (i.e- being able to find anyone in the world just by thinking about them before she sleeps, then she dreams all about them, and wakes up knowing where they are.) and how that lands her in a supposedly abandoned old military base. This Science Fiction (with a tiny smidgen of romance tossed in) is a fabulous read for anyone who loves action and "what ifs" . I highly recommend all teens read this!
