Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Ethan Wate knows that Lena Duchannes is literally the girl of his dreams as soon as he sees her. He is mysteriously drawn to this outsider whose family makes Boo Radley seem like a social butterfly. Lena seems to be hiding secrets that definitely involve some sort of magical element. She is not sure whether Ethan, the love of her life, can accept the way she is. With great persistence, Ethan gets an answer that can destroy the quiet town of Gaitlin.
This was a dreamy, Gothic, romantic fantasy book that had definitely captured my attention while I was reading. I appreciated the details and sincerity that the authors had put into this book. I enjoyed some great imageries and similes and could profoundly say that this book has excellently used original literary devices. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in some dark magic. I look forward to read the sequel as there are plenty of plots left unresolved in the first book.
