99 coffins

The book, 99 Coffins, is a story about a young female police officer that has had a rough past fighting vampires but when a group of college interns at a Civil War battleground stumble upon a cavern filled with 99 coffins, one of them is smashed and the vampire missing from its coffin. Later on it is revealed that the 150 year old vampires are the remains of a Union Army vampire corps that was used to turn the tide against the South at Gettysburg So a wild goose chase starts to try and find this deadly vampire before its starts a vampirism outbreak. She teams up with her old vampire fighting partner. In one can't miss part of the story her teammate transform into a vampire to stop the ravenous vampires, thinking this transformation would not be permanent .The young female, Claxton, doesn't return in time so her mentor stays the vile thing he hates the most.

This book really didn't appeal to me. I didn't like it because it didn't pull me in as a reader. At the part in the book when they found the 99 coffins there wasn't enough imagery and action to pull me into the novel. I believe the group the author was targeting was teens because of the sci-fi/vampire themes to the novel. I would give this book 2 out of 5 stars. The plot and the storyline was captivating and intriguing, but the author needs to develop his skills to make the book come alive.
