I recently read Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. It was an amazing book. It took place up in space and in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ender’s Game is science fiction book. The main character is Ender Wiggin. He is the third child also the one who is destined to lead the army into war against the Formics (basically a smarter & larger version of ant the Formics fight or go into war with the humans’ once every fifty years). Where Ender is from there are only supposed to be two kids, but the International Fleet the I.F. allowed his family to have a third kid because their other two had too strong of a certain personality and they needed one right in the middle of the two and that’s where Ender comes in. Ender has to wear a monitor on the back of his neck so the I.F. can see how he handles things and if he is the one. Once the monitor came off they had to see how he would be able to handle himself, he passed the final test, off to battle school. In Battle school up in space, Ender trained and became the leader they needed, there he played games and commanded battles, and he also commanded the last battle.
I also watched the movie directed by Gavin Hood it was great but in my own opinion I think the book was better than the movie. The movie helped me to visuals everything but it left out a lot of important scenes and information. They also changed the end of the movie, the movies ending was different then the books. They were both amazing. There was another twist, Ender was still a young child in the book about five to ten and the actor in the movie was sixteen years old. I thought the movie was amazing even if it left out scenes and info. I would rate the book a ten out of ten because it was an amazing book, the only challenge was the vocab, there was some words I needed to work on and learn to understand them. The movie on the other hand, Id rate an eight out of ten because it left things out and confused me a little.
The movie was different from the book because the scenes were different so was the speech or text. Not all of it was different or changed just a few parts of it was. For example the ending was different, Ender’s age was different, the scene where Ender fights Stilson was different it was in what looked like a science class room instead of outside, they took out the part where Ender talked to his mom before getting taken and sent to battle school, they also take out the part where Alai kisses Ender. So, yes they took out a lot and changed a lot. Even with those changes it was still amazing and with out those changes it would have been a six-hour movie instead of a two-hour movie. I’d suggest you read the book and watch the movie both the book and the movie is fantastic.
