Have you ever read a book that kept you awake for hours on end trying to finish it? Well this book is one of them .The Colossus rises is a book for all ages since it’s very understandable. As you read it will feel like you are immersed in suspense the whole way through. There are very strong characters throughout the book that you will get to know as you keep reading.

The Colossus rises by Peter Lerangis is an exciting, mystery/fantasy book about a 13 year old boy - Jack McKinley, who is just an ordinary kid ;until one day. He collapses and has to be sent to a hospital in a strange place. There he learns that he has a genetic trait that is killing him slowly.Once he turns 14 he will die (most likely) . But there is also good things about this. Jack and his friends Marco, Aly, and Cass; who have the same disease as him have to figure out a way to save the world and stop this from happening to them.

The Colossus rises is a fiction book taken place in Belleville, Indiana. It has lots of action in every part that you read that keeps you hooked and curious. Throughout the book there is also a strong plot that keeps unfolding as you continue to read. This book is a good choice if you enjoy books that leave you hanging , since it is a series you have more to look forward to each time. It is focused on teamwork because the kids have to work together to save the world.
When I read this book I was surprised and sometimes frustrated at what happened as I was reading. The plot has many twist and turns, danger at every corner and it feels like you are in the book with Jack and his friends. People who like action books like Percy Jackson will LOVE this book.


Overall this book to me is worth reading, out of everything that stands out, I am sure you will enjoy!
