Treasure Island is about a boy and a doctor that go on an adventure to find treasure on an island. The main characters are Jim Hawkins (the boy), Billy Bones (old captain), Captain Smollett, John Silver, Pew, Black dog, the squire, Dr. Livesey, Mr. Trelawney, and Ben Gunn. Jim goes to Dr. Livesey and asks him to take him on a voyage to find treasure on an island. Then, the squire gets a crew and a ship (the ship’s captain is Captain Smollett).  Then, the crew and Jim go to the island and find the treasure. The crew runs into pirates but at the end of the book, the crew leaves with the treasure and leaves the pirates on the island, to be stranded. My favorite character is Doctor Livesey because he is kind and cares for everyone.

I can relate most to Jim. Jim is around my age and he loves adventure. More importantly, Jim loves his family and will help them in any way possible. I love my family, I love adventure, and I love to help people also. I have felt an abundance of the feelings Jim felt. I have been exuberant, joyful, and depressingly sorrowful.

I enjoyed the book, although I like fantasy more. It was an incredible book and it had amazing detail. I could relate to the characters and feel the emotions they felt. The book had great imagery and used great imaginary skills. My favorite part of the book was when the crew encountered pirates. My least favorite part of the book is when Pew chases after them. If I could change something in the book, it would be the ending. I would make the ending a little more exciting and less of a cliffhanger.
I would recommend this book to an older audience, or someone who is exceedingly mature.
I am recommending this book because it is superbly delightful to the imagination. The author, Stevenson, put an abundance of effort into this book. Stevenson is adept at writing with creation. A person who is mature and can understand this book would most likely adore it. Treasure Island is an amazing book.
