The Hobbit is takes place in Middle Earth. Bilbo Baggins was his name, he’s a hobbit. This certain hobbit goes on a very unexpected journey with 13 dwarves and Gandalf a wizard. Their main mission is to take back the dwarf kingdom in the ancient underground city of Moria. They must reclaim what was once theirs and through this process Bilbo discovers a part of himself that’s more confident and strong. The group must travel a hard journey, they must fight and befriend other creatures that live in Middle Earth!
The book and the movie had many differences and similarities. Examples of differences are in the 1st Hobbit movie, the book mentions nothing of Frodo Baggins (Bilbos nephew/ cousin) but when the movie comes on Frodo is in the opening scene! Other differences are also like how Azog, (the pale orc) and Legolas and Tauriel ( Wood-elves) made an appearance in the movie but weren’t even mentioned in the book. Similarities include the usual like some settings, characters, enemies, and the common happy ending with these kind of sci-fi fantasy books.
In my opinion, the movie is better that the book. I think this because even with the changes in characters like Legolas and Tauriel, they actually made the whole series better because they brought more action. Even the Pale Orc, I thought he was a great antagonist! The Pale Orc was also a great opponent for the great Thorin Oakenshield heir to the throne. Even though the movie brought in new characters, those characters brought more suspense, and action to the whole Hobbit Series!
