Plain Truth, by Jodi Picoult, tells the story of a murder mystery on an Amish farm, where a baby is found dead and no mother around. Then when a girl is found standing in a puddle of blood, and accused of being the mother, she denies it completely saying she would never have a baby out of wedlock.
Picoult does an amazing job of foreshadowing. She gives you bits of the story that you don’t understand until the last chapter. This book was interesting because you were never sure who the mother and the killer were until the last chapter. Picoult is good at expressing the views in a courtroom She gives the thoughts and opinions of everyone in the courtroom including the judge, lawyers, and jury. I would recommend this book to a mature young adult. The book does have more of adult themes.
