The Real Deal
After reading ¨Columbine¨ by Dave Cullen, I have a greater knowledge on the tragedy that took place in my school 16 years ago. The author’s use of structure and ideas made it easier to comprehend and follow and has detailed explanation of every question you could think of.
The author used a unique structure and organization in ¨Columbine¨. There almost was no organization but it made sense. Cullen jumped back and forth from different topics from the past, shooting, and afterwards. This technique kept me interested in the book and made me anticipate when he would jump back to more information about the shooting. This book took 10 years in the making and in my opinion it was worth it. The author took so long to write this book so that he could get all the facts correct. Everything in this book is credible and factual without opinions from Cullen. Dave makes sure that he does not seem biased or opinionated throughout the whole book, in order to leave it up to the reader what they may think of everything.
I have always been curious about how the shooting at my school went down and why it happened. This book answered all my questions and I definitely recommend it to anyone with a curiosity about Columbine High School.
