The realistic fictional novel-in-verse story of Josh, JB, and Chuck “Da Man” is a story of brotherhood and family that most teens can relate to. This inspirational novel has won a John Newbery Award and a Coretta Scott King Award. This story will leave you speechless with many twist and turns.

JB and Josh are identical twins who love basketball, there dad even use to be in the NBA. Josh and JB were the best two players on the basketball team until things start to shift with family and school life especially with Josh.

I feel like this is a great book to read as a young teen because it's very inspirational and  makes you want to work hard to reach your goals. This book teaches you about many things including courage and ambition. Each paragraph leaves you jaw dropped.

Josh was dealing with a lot of stuff in his head from worrying about his dad's health to him and his brothers friendship, and him being the only one of his friends that don't have a girlfriend. As all these problems begin to occur he starts to slack on his grind.Should he focus on basketball or his family?

I give “The Crossover” a five star rating. I give it a  five star rating because it is filled with thousands of descriptive sentences that can make you feel like you are with them watching it happen. This book also makes you feel many different emotions for sadness,to happiness,to even surprised.

The amazing book shows how family should always come first no matter what because they will always have your back. This book showed me that you should always work hard non-stop to reach your goals.
