In the stunning debut novel ‘Prodigal’ by Rektok Ross, Lexy Quinn, a senior in high school must move halfway across the country because her mom is ill. Lexy must leave her friends and most importantly the newly acquired position of editor on her school newspaper.
I will admit, I’m not much of a religious person, I was scared that this was a little too religious for me, but I absolutely loved this book.
Prodigal is laid back, but not boring. It is not a choppy book, it flows from the first page to the last.
I didn’t expect to get reeled in as I did, I couldn’t put it down. I always wanted to know what came next.
I could picture everything, the imagery was that fantastic. The word choice was perfect, and enticing throughout the book.
I would love to see a sequel to Prodigal. I want to know what happens to Lexy!
I would most definitely recommend this book, it is an easy read and it’s easy to keep up with. Rektok Ross will keep you wanting more.
