The Gunfighter
Imagine hearing a voice telling you and everyone around you what's going to happen before it happens and spilling all your secrets. This short film The Gunfighter, it has exactly that. I had watched this short film and was amazed at how well it was made and how interested I was in the film. The Gunfighter was different from other films I had watched. It had the characters being able to hear the narrator and it was a comedy. I don’t see that in many short films let alone movies. I recommend this movie to any audience that wants a laugh and wants to watch a comedy short film. The dialogue in this film is very funny and enjoyable. Though there are a few lines that could offend some audiences. In my opinion, this short film was very good and I would recommend watching it.
To start off The Gunfighter is the main character and he is like a cowboy and he goes into a bar. He walks in and is starting to hear a voice saying things. This was the narrator. This is where the short film starts to get interesting as everyone in the bar can hear the narrator or voice. The rest of the short film was entertaining. The jokes were pretty funny and the setting makes it even better. The movie is set in western America when all the cowboys existed.
In addition, the short film came out on March 21, 2014, directed by Erick Kissack and narrated by Nick Offerman. The film had a budget of $25,000 and was produced by Christopher Northup and Sarah Platt. The actor is Shawn Parsons, who plays The Gunfighter. Other characters in the bar include Sally played by Eileen O’ Connell, Tommy Henderson played by Scott Beehner, and Jordan Black as Sam (The bartender). The blurb of the short film is “In the tradition of classic westerns, a narrator sets up the story of a lone gunslinger who walks into a saloon. However, the people in this saloon can hear the narrator, and the narrator may just be a little bit bloodthirsty.” The directing of the movie was amazing. I didn't notice any mistakes or anything like that. Also, props for the acting and the editing because I am pretty sure there was no voice and they were just acting and saying their lines.
This genre of this short film is Comedy/Short/Western as you watch the film you will notice the genre. Disclaimer there is some bestiality in the film so if you don’t like that or whatever maybe do not watch the film. The setting in the film is amazing as the scenery in the salon. This short film in my opinion is one of the funniest films I have seen. It was unique in the story and the dialogue was just funny. I have not watched it another time again but I will.
Overall this short film “The Gunfight” is very entertaining and fun. I personally enjoyed watching it and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a laugh or something to watch. I would recommend teenagers watch this movie because it may be too much for kids. If you want to laugh and watch a comedy short film this is the one for you. You will not be disappointed. The acting and editing are great so there shouldn't be any mistakes. Watch the film and see how it goes.
