The Meg 2 is a 2023 sequel, following The Meg. The Meg was undoubtedly a great movie with lots of drama, physical action, which got my adrenaline going. That leaves everyone to wonder.. Is The Meg 2 worth watching?

The Meg 2 starts out with action as well. in the beginning involving a megalodon, which definitely got my adrenaline pumping. 

Previous characters come back, such as Meiying, Suyin's daughter who died. Jonas, the experienced deep diver in the previous movie. As well as some new characters that are freshly introduced to us.  

Later as I dive deeper into the movie, they dive deeper into the unknown ocean. They run into some problems down in the depths and release a creature unknown to mankind. 

Even though the movie is incredibly action packed, it also leaves time for emotional drama too. Between Jonas, the main diver, and Meiying, the girl he has taken under his wing, they create a truly touching story as Jonas acts as a father figure to her. New characters continue to surprise us, and there are plot twists left and right.This movie does not compare to the reality of the ocean, but it still keeps people wondering what will happen next.  

But this movie definitely did not top The Meg. It seems as if this was less believable and even though there is lots of action, it just does not top the first one in the sequel. 

If you want a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I would recommend watching this one.
