Comedy/fantasy movies are hilarious, funny, and addicting. You experience a good laugh, which makes you want to watch the movie again.

The creators of Barbie did a great job with the trailer. After watching, I knew this movie was going to be a hit. There were so many amazing actors that were cast and it seemed like everyone put a lot of effort into making this movie. I could see there were going to be so many good songs and dancing. And the glimpse of the costumes and setting—There were barbies from all decades with a variety of hairstyles, clothing, and dream houses. When the movie came out in July 2023, I couldn’t wait to buy tickets.

When someone mentions a barbie, the first thing that probably comes to your mind is pink, plastic dolls that kids play with; however, in this movie, that is not at all what it is about. This film delivered so much more than just that.

The main thing that stood out to me in the movie was the amazing cast. Margot Robbie was perfect for the role of Barbie and I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing it. From her bright blonde hair and perfect blue eyes to a single tear with every emotion in between, Robbie finds the perfect energy and tone throughout the movie.

The plot of the movie was well put together.  Both Barbie and Ken take a journey of self-discovery and realize a lot about life. They must travel to the human world in order to understand themselves and discover their true purpose of living. Barbie and Ken discover harsh truths and make new friends, but understand there is a purpose for the way things are in Barbieland.

This movie gives life lessons for not only women, but men as well. This was a huge part of the film because Barbie shows us a world where women have power given by kindness, unity, and self-actualization. She shows the audience that anything is possible. On the other hand, the Ken’s feel left out, but their insecurities manifest an overcompensation on how they value themselves in relation to women.

From watching the trailer to watching the movie, the trailer definitely lived up to my expectations of what was in the movie. This movie influences you to be who you want to be, no matter what the circumstances are, and just be yourself.

I chose to write a review about the Barbie Movie because when It came out last year, I was so excited to see it. It is a very good movie, with very good life lessons. After seeing this movie, it encourages embracing individuality and finding your own path. There is definitely a lot of empowerment, especially for women and girls, by showing the diverse and strong female characters,
