The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was an action-packed movie to definitely help summer start. It was overall a good movie and I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. The only reason why I gave it this rating was simple: the ending. The ending left me with awe and all I wanted to do was listen to sad songs and curl up into a ball in the corner! I realize that Gwen was destined to die in the movie after dying in the comics, but I though that it wasn't necessary. Yes, how else would you introduce Mary Jane Watson (Peter Parker's future love interest) without killing her? In my opinion, the creators should have waited a little bit longer to kill her, but then again, I saw her death coming the whole movie.

Moving on, I thought the actors were stunning; Emma Stone portrayed Gwen Stacy perfectly and I'm sad to see her go, Andrew Garfield played the role as a hero really well with the right amount of determination mixed in with tons of funny moments, and who could forget Jamie Foxx aka Electro? Seeing him turn from a rich movie star to plain old Max Dillon was great, and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborne) showed a lot of potential in this movie and I'm excited to see more of his work.

One thing that really made me get excited was the animation involving Electro. His skin color and eyes glowed brightly while he fought with Spider-Man. For now, this man might be my favorite Spider-man villain until Venom comes along.

Something that also made me very surprised was how the events weren't as complicated as most superhero movies tend to be. It was very easy to understand even for some young children. One thing that also made me a little bit glad to see was how the creators went out on a limb and made the heroes love die instead of them staying together forever, which gave these movies a whole new twist. I'm definitely excited to see how the other Spider-man movies will turn out.
