The adventure, thriller, and sci-fi movie Insurgent (Part 2 of the Divergent Series), was released worldwide on March 20th 2015. Insurgent was directed by Robert Schwentke, and some of the screenplay writers were Brian Duffield, Akiva Goldsman, and Mark Bomback. Famous actors and actresses were cast to play huge roles in the movie. Kate Winslet was Jeanine, “the bad guy” who was the leader of the faction Erudite. Jai Courtney was casted as Eric, Shailene Woodley as Tris, Theo James as Four, Miles Teller as Peter, and Ansel Elgort as Caleb, who is Tris’s brother in the film.

The setting of the movie is placed in the ruins of Chicago. Tris and Four set out to find out what and why the Erudites are hiding something significant that can change the whole faction system and possibly the entire world. They are trying to solve why Tris’s parents sacrificed themselves to keep a secret protected while they face many challenges.

Insurgent is one of my favorite movies because I never get tired of watching it. Everytime I watch this movie, I feel hope, strength, and confidence. Shailene Woodley, who plays Tris, reminds me of myself when I have to deal with the struggles that I face throughout my life. Her character in the movie affects me because she is empowering. Although Four is her love interest who will do anything to keep her safe, Tris does demonstrate her independent self in some ways.

Director of Photography Florian Ballhaus does an outstanding job displaying visuals of the Chicago ruins throughout the movie. The graphics seem so real it made me feel as if I was actually there. Theo James and Shailene Woodley stand out to me because they are the main focus/characters and are involved in every scene. Another aspect throughout the movie that stood out to me is the costuming. The costume designer for the movie is Louise Mingenbach. Each character has his or her own style depending which faction they fall in.
The ending satisfies me because it turned out to be happy and suspenseful. The movie can be seen by teenagers and adults. I saw the movie with my mom, which made it more enjoyable, because we had mother and daughter time. Overall, the ending of the film was very good. I think everyone who sees this movie will be content. The very end will leave people in suspense for two reasons, which is why people should go see it.
