Channel ORANGE by Frank Ocean
Frank Ocean has officially proved to be the best musician of this generation. He's also his own man, a distinctive voice with no real barrier in R&B, or anywhere else in today’s pop. Ocean reins himself in, tucking his words and melodies into tighter verse-chorus structures, the songs have startling force. "You know you were my first time, a new feel/It won't ever get old, not in my soul … Do you think about me still? ... 'Cause I been thinkin' 'bout forever." Ocean sings those lines in the woozy "Thinkin Bout You,"
Even though this album did not make the top hits of the year he wasn’t low either. The song “Thinking Bout You” and “Novacane” hit the top charts. I honestly think he hasn’t made the top charts because his lyrics are very hard to understand. He uses metaphors compares everything and covers his life story with fictional characters.
