Rush
With eyes wide open
I see choices creeping back upon me,
Said I'd never return to this pain,
But now it's too late.
I'm stuck in the middle of decision road
With not enough time to retreat.
Ready to take a chance,
To break out of my safety shell,
Overturning the fear of having my whole world flipped upside down.
I promised myself to go slowly,
Guard my hopeful heart...
Look where that's gotten me.
The hours pass,
Light has turned to night,
Two bulbs of hope lie in the distance,
Bold, bright, huge...
I tread toward the beam,
CRUNCH!
