Masked
As he approaches
Mask down low
Axe held high
An unsettling fear
Unknown to me
His footsteps creaking
My hands tied
No escape
His ax rises
My head shoved down
Neck fitting perfectly
View blocked out
The ax falls
My eyes close
My lips mutter a prayer
It's cut short
And all is silent.
