My Earliest Memmory
In the park I was the young adventurer, keeper
of smiles and laughs. Unable to inhibit my exhilaration,
sprint, I whispered to myself; the faster
I ran, more cheerful I became.
I came to see one giant dog on my elated path
its creepy tongue nesting beyond its killer teeth.
The heightened tension dragged me up to its zenith
so I tucked my head as I rushed back to my father.
My father followed my path from far behind
and watched me without a concern nor a doubt.
After all he seemed not noticed, and I lost my mind
When I noticed; the dog was chasing
me from right behind. I had to spring.
Help me, I kept yelling, I’m only six.
