Left-handed compliments,
Rude glares,
No attention given.
High school:
Excessive hugs,
Generous checks,
Endearing statements,
Too much attention.
Grandma,
What has caused these changes?
You leave me confused,
And now, a time that should be rejoiceful,
Is tainted with fear.
I’ve seen your walking ability retrogress
From wobble, to cane, to practically immobile.
