Hope only has wings
When it has feathers to fly
Feathers born of dreams

Actually I don't really write haikus all that much, I just sort of had a phase right about here.  I'm not sure what exactly inspired this poem, perhaps something from my fantastical dreams.

Prose is like walking but poetry is like dancing.<br /> &mdash;Paul Valery, poet (1871 - 1945)

Like haikus alot? I don't know what it is about this one that I fond so interesting, but there was something there at the back of my mind as soon as I read the words. What is this? Perhaps a longer poem expanding on these words which inspired it? I'm not usually a big fan of haikus; I prefer rhyming poems, but this one, for one reason or another, I like alot.

Ah, thank you.  It was inspired by Emily Dickenson.
