Memories
Walking these old town streets
A thousand memories flash before me
Remembering one too many defeats
Flashbacks are surely not my cup of tea
One by one I recognize everyone
Everybody changed nobody is the same anymore
The separation of friends has slowly begun
The ones that would last forever we swore
Passing by old childhood playgrounds
Thinking about my old imagination
That was killed by all the hatred that surrounds
Every time I remember comes more frustration
Walking these old town streets
A thousand memories flash before me
Remembering one too many defeats
I’m not the person people thought I’d be

I wrote this piece when I moved back to an old town I had previously lived in before. I realized no matter what the world keeps spinning without you. All my old friends turned into people i could no longer recognize. I also changed into a new person over time too though.
