The Warmth of Summer Days
Are you but a name, or my soul’s sweet life?
Blowing breezes fill the green velvet leaves.
Cotton-candy paints the sky of my strife.
Rain drops dripping from the beautiful eaves.
Blackness painting the lasting light of day.
Moving like quick footsteps across the world.
The night moving in, on the day’s betray.
The colors of day and night are ever swirled.
Dark and light battling for the power hold.
Clouds and blackness blot out the day’s last light.
The world’s eternal war, for peace uphold.
What shall we do with the world’s ever dark plight?
As long as the days of warmth forever last.
May my love of the summer days long last.
