Same Song, Just A Different Verse
In the beginning
I could've sworn it wasn't fake
We didn't have much of a connection
But it was something I was willing to make.
Since the relationship was rushed
I doubted endlessly
And ,in the end,
I knew it just wasn't meant to be.
He lied to me from the start
Why couldn't he just keep it real?
He just went on ahead
Oblivious to how I would feel.
He asked me out
For all the wrong reasons
Not even sure
Of all his own feelings.
I can't lie though
I wasn't sure either
But I wasn't ready
To let him go neither.
I found out later on
That while we were together,
He was looking at other girls Dressed for the hot weather.
He told one of our friends
"I'm only with her 'cause she like me."
Little did he know,
You can't keep the truth in hiding.
He changed for the worst,
I'm not the only one who saw it.
If he rather be a jerk,
What can I say? Go for it.
But don't insult me
By trying to remain my friend.
There is no way I can look at you
With the same respect again.
To tell you the truth,
I'm no longer confused
And I'm getting sick and tired
Of hearing the same tune.
It happens so often
That I must be cursed.
It's always the same song,
But just a different verse.
